Zelensky: 15-minute talk with Trump at the Vatican was more productive than Oval Office meeting

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that a brief private conversation with former U.S. President Donald Trump at the Vatican was more productive than their previous meeting in the Oval Office, involving multiple participants.

According to Gunaz TV, citing Report, Zelensky told ABC News that the 15-minute one-on-one meeting was “good and productive.”

“Time and opportunity are needed. That 15-minute one-on-one meeting at the Vatican gave more than the Oval Office meeting held with a large circle of people,” he emphasized.

Zelensky admitted it was difficult to comment on the Oval Office meeting with Trump, which ended in public controversy. He also added that he hopes for more direct interaction with the former U.S. president.

The two leaders met on April 26 at the Vatican during Pope Francis's funeral, which was attended by dozens of world leaders. The Ukrainian Presidential Office expects the next meeting with Trump to occur during the G7 Summit, scheduled for June 15–17 in Canada.
