The Israeli military has confirmed that its fighter jets targeted a “wide range” of sites in Tehran, including locations allegedly linked to Iran’s nuclear weapons program.
According to the statement, among the targets were Iran’s Ministry of Defense headquarters and the “Sepand nuclear project command center,” as well as other facilities believed to be involved in Iran’s efforts to obtain nuclear weapons. The military claimed one of the locations was also used to store Iran’s secret nuclear archive.
Earlier on Sunday, Iran’s Tasnim News Agency reported that Israeli aircraft had targeted the Iranian Ministry of Defense’s command center and the Organization for Defense Innovation and Research (Sepand) in the Nobonyad area of northern Tehran.
Tasnim noted that one of the administrative buildings of the ministry’s headquarters sustained minor damage in the attack.
