Trump: “Israel is much safer now.”

Following U.S. airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear sites in Fordow, Natanz, and Isfahan, President Donald Trump told Axios that “Israel is much safer now.”

The strikes, carried out early Sunday using B-2 stealth bombers, targeted Iran’s most fortified nuclear facilities and mark a historic and risky U.S. military escalation in the Middle East.

Trump announced the “very successful attack” on Truth Social, declaring that “a full payload of bombs” was dropped on Fordow and that now is “the time for peace.” According to officials, Israel was informed in advance of the operation.

The strike comes after diplomatic efforts failed — including a last-minute secret attempt to organize U.S.-Iran talks in Istanbul, which collapsed after Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei couldn’t be reached.

Trump had delayed the decision, initially offering Iran one last chance for negotiation. However, with Iran refusing direct talks while Israeli strikes continued, Trump concluKhamenei military action was necessary to stop Iran’s nuclear program — a red line he has long emphasized.
