The German news agency reported that the 53-year-old man was handed over to German police on Monday morning, July 14.

The German newspaper Bild reported that the man entered Iranian territory in May 2025 under the guise of a family trip to Turkey. After passing on information he had gathered about Jewish targets in Berlin to Iranian officers, he left Iran with forged documents and without an official seal.

The Danish domestic intelligence agency shared the matter with the German domestic security agency after intercepting messages between the man and a known officer of the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The man's connection to the Hamburg Islamic Center and his frequent visits to the Imam Ali Mosque (known as the Blue Mosque) were also under the watch of security agencies.
