“We stand in solidarity with the Islamic Republic’s intelligence services’ attempts to kill, kidnap, and harass people in Europe and North America. These Iranian actions are a clear violation of our sovereignty,” the statement said.

The statement, issued on the evening of July 31, was signed by the governments of the United States, Great Britain, Albania, Austria, Belgium, Canada, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Spain, and Sweden.

The countries that signed the statement emphasize that the Iran’s intelligence services “are increasing their cooperation with international criminal organizations to target journalists, political opponents, Jewish citizens, and current and former officials in Europe and North America.”
