On August 5, residents of the city of Maku and surrounding villages in the West Azerbaijan province held a protest.
They protested that they are facing a constant water shortage despite living in the province's richest region with water resources.
According to the protesters, especially in recent weeks, the supply of drinking water has been stopped for most of the day, and the population is forced to pay a large amount of money to meet their water needs through tankers.
It should be noted that the Maku region is considered one of the richest areas in Western Azerbaijan with water resources and there are several rivers here.
