Iran has underground resources worth $27.5 trillion.
This was stated by Dariush Esmaili, Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Mineral Resources of Iran, Head of the Geology and Mineral Exploration Organization, at a meeting with members of the Mining and Metals Commission of the Tabriz Chamber of Commerce.
According to him, Iran is fifth in the world after Russia, America, Saudi Arabia and Canada with this indicator.
The Deputy Minister noted that Iran has minerals worth one trillion 400 billion dollars: "At least five percent of this is mineral raw materials. Certificates have been issued for the discovery of deposits worth 29 billion dollars. This means that only two percent of the reserves have been discovered."
D. Esmaili emphasized that the need to conduct geological exploration works is no secret to anyone: "It is possible to obtain 10 trillion dollars from the mining and mineral processing sector."
It should be noted that despite all this, Iran is experiencing a serious water and energy shortage crisis.
