New statement by the Velayati regarding Trump Road - We will not allow it!

"Is the South Caucasus such a desolate region that Trump should rent it out?"

This was stated by Ali Akbar Velayati, an advisor to Iranian leader Ali Khamenei, while speaking about the trilateral declaration signed in America.

Velayati said that Iran will prevent the "American corridor" planned to be built in the Caucasus:

"The Caucasus is one of the most sensitive geographical points in the world. The said road will not become a corridor owned by Trump, but a graveyard for Trump's mercenaries. Trump thinks that he is a broker and can rent land and regions".

Khamenei's advisor reiterated Tehran's previous claims on the issue and claimed that the opening of the corridor is "part of a plan against Iran":

"The creation of the "Zangezur corridor" will limit Iran's road connections in the north and northwest only with Turkey. If this provocation is carried out, the security of the South Caucasus will be threatened. Iran will act to prevent this threat. With or without Russia".

He reiterated his views that this corridor is not just a trade route, but a "political provocation against Iran and some neighboring countries":

"In addition to Turkey, which is a NATO member, other NATO countries also want to settle in this region. NATO wants to stretch like a snake between Iran and Russia. Iran will not allow this."

Ali Akbar Velayati also said that the corridor in question will lead to the disintegration of Armenia in the future:

"No nation will agree to the disintegration of its land, even if its government exhibits unstable positions. This corridor changes the geopolitical situation of the region, causes borders to change, and is intended for the disintegration of Armenia."

It should be noted that this is Velayati's fourth statement regarding the Zangezur corridor in the past month.

He previously said that the opening of the corridor was "part of the plan to encircle Iran," and that Tehran was right to take any preventive action against it.
