Behnam Vaziri, a prominent Qashqai Turk activist and defender of the cultural and historical heritage of this people, has been detained by security forces for more than two months.
In recent years, Vaziri has actively participated in numerous meetings in Tehran against the plundering and distortion of Qashqai heritage, especially in the field of preserving traditional Qashqai clothing, and has defended the cultural rights and historical identity of the Qashqai people with exemplary determination.
Despite the civil and peaceful nature of these activities, not only were his efforts not appreciated, he was even arrested, and despite the passage of more than two months, no charges have been brought against him.
It is also unknown how and when his arrest occurred.
