Azerbaijanis asks Pezeshkian about Lake Urmia

Following the spread of news about the drying up of Lake Urmia, South Azerbaijani social media users addressed questions to Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian.

Azerbaijanis have asked the reasons for Massoud Pezeshkian's failure to fulfill his promise and the lack of practical steps to restore Lake Urmia.

"It seems that Massoud Pezeshkian is a double-edged sword, and the failure to restore Lake Urmia and its complete drying up indicate that the sharp edge of Pezeshkian's sword is still directed at Azerbaijan," - wrote the "Shahrvandi Tabriz" channel.

At the same time, it was noted that no work has been done to fulfill Massoud Pezeshkian's promises regarding the Azerbaijani language and culture.

Policy of discrimination, such as the allocation of a small share of the state budget to Azerbaijan and other non-Persian provinces was also noted:

"Now tell me yourself, what did Pezeshkian do for Azerbaijan during his presidency?! Has the sharp edge of the sword turned to enemies or to ourselves..?!"

It should be noted that, according to the latest information, Lake Urmia has completely dried up and is not visible on satellite images.

Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian stated in his pre-election propaganda and campaign that one of his main goals if elected would be the rapid restoration of Lake Urmia.
