Yesterday, September 22, 2025, with the start of the new school year and the opening of schools activists of the Azerbaijani National Movement distributed hundreds of Turkish children's books among Azerbaijani children in the cities of Nir and Sarayn of Ardabil province in protest against the monolingual nature of the country's education system.

The books mainly contain language education and Turkish children's stories, and during the distribution of the books, children and their parents were informed about language rights and the benefits of education in their native language.

The government of the Islamic Republic of Iran ignores all material and moral rights of the peoples living in this geography. Turks, Arabs, Baluchis, Turkmen and other nationalities have been fighting the centralist and chauvinist policies of the Iranian central government for years since the Pahlavi regime.

Turks living in Iran are deprived of many basic rights, such as receiving education in their native language and having a national newspaper and television in their native language. Therefore, the distribution of Turkish books by civic activists on days related to children's education is one of the methods that can be effective, albeit in a small way, in preserving the mother tongue.
