This was reported by the Iranian news website "Ruydad 24".
"From the decline in milk and meat consumption to the shortage of fruits and vegetables, the food crisis in the country has become a serious problem for public health and family budgets," the report said.
Ahmad Esmailzadeh, head of the department at the Iranian Ministry of Health, also confirmed the fact in a statement to "Ruydad 24":
"The annual death toll in the country is around 400-420 thousand people, and a significant part of this is due to malnutrition."
The report said that the decline in the consumption of dairy products, meat, fruits and vegetables, the increase in obesity among children and pregnant women, and the lack of essential vitamins and minerals have led to a new crisis that could pose a serious threat to the health of the citizens and future generations.
