Today, at around 9:30 a.m. local time, several national activists were arrested while holding a sit-in in front of Evin Prison in Tehran.
Local sources reported on this.
According to the information, security officers detained Abbas Lisani, Ali Khairju, Yusif Dashti and Behzad Khairjunu and took them to an unknown location.
The activists were arrested for supporting the sit-in protest of the families of Vadud Asadi and Tahir Naqavi, who were on hunger strike in Evin prison, demanding their release.
It should be noted that Tahir Naqavi and Vadud Asadi have been on hunger strike for more than two weeks in protest against the unjust sentence imposed on them and the deprivation of medical care.
The prisoners were arrested in February 2024.
They were given long-term prison sentences on charges of "colluding against national security", "propaganda against the government", "insulting the leader" and "espionage".
