Yurush Mehralibeyli, a national activist and former political prisoner living in Julfa city of East Azerbaijan province, was arrested today in Tabriz city.
Sources close to his family reported this.
No official state agency has yet accepted responsibility for the arrest of the national activist.
It was not possible to obtain information about where he is being held and the reason for his arrest.
It should be noted that Yurush Mehralibeyli has been arrested several times before for his peaceful cultural activities and has been subjected to long-term prison sentences.
