According to information received by Gunaztv, Mehdi Mehdizade, an athlete and activist from Ardabil, was arrested during the January protests.

Sources close to Mehdi Mehdizade's family said that since his arrest, no information has been received about his whereabouts, physical condition, or legal status, and the family's appeals have been unsuccessful.

Mehdi Mehdizade is a well-known sports figure in Ardabil and runs the "Mester Fit" fitness club.

The Azerbaijani activist's family and relatives have specifically highlighted their concerns about the continued lack of information and the lack of access to phone calls.
