Former student activist Reza Abbasi was summoned to the city's security police and arrested on February 16, 2026, and transferred to Zanjan Central Prison.
The activist was reportedly previously summoned to the police on January 8 and 9 for publishing articles about the death toll and the security forces' treatment of families.
He was detained by police on February 12 and questioned over his Instagram stories.
Reports indicate that Reza Abbasi was arrested after testifying at the Zanjan Revolutionary Court.
It should be noted that he was previously arrested in 2006 and 2009 and held in prison for a year.
