This was stated by Davud Farazi, deputy head of the Cultural Heritage Organization of West Azerbaijan Province.

He stated that work is underway to register the historical monument with UNESCO, and that if the restoration plan is not implemented and the illegal additions made later are not canceled, the registration issue will be terminated.

It should be noted that the 12th-century Seljuk Friday Mosque is a unique worship complex formed in several stages, distinguished by its magnificent altar, 11.5-meter-diameter dome, and rich artistic decorations added during the Ilkhanid period.

The monument was included in the list of national works of Iran in 1935.
