17 more Azerbaijanis arrested over the war

Seventeen more people have been arrested in West Azerbaijan province in connection with the war.

The province’s Intelligence Department reported the arrests.

They have been accused of “contacts with foreign media and propaganda activities on social media.”

Some of those detained are also accused of “sending information about certain military and defense installations, as well as the coordinates of military and police forces in the city of Urmia, to foreign countries.”

In addition, several individuals were reportedly detained for “having links with groups opposed to the government.”

The Intelligence Department also claimed that individuals in the cities of Urmia and Chaypareh had been arrested for “pre-planned activities involving photographing and filming sensitive military and civilian centers to send to enemy networks.”

No information has been released about the identities of those detained.
