Iranian officials stated on Saturday that the country’s armed forces are staying fully prepared while talks with the United States are underway, highlighting a strong lack of trust toward Washington.
Member of parliament Rouhollah Motefakker Azad said Iran has no confidence in the United States and is prepared to enforce “the will of the nation on the battlefield.”
Fadahossein Maleki, who serves on the parlament’s national security and foreign policy committee, also noted that the armed forces are “ready to pull the trigger” if any “strategic error” occurs during the negotiations.
Earlier, Mehdi Tabatabaei, deputy for communications to President Masoud Pezeshkian, wrote on X that the armed forces were fully prepared as the talks began.
