Two young men killed at checkpoints by Iranian security forces

At least two young men have reportedly been killed in recent weeks at checkpoints in Iran by Basij units and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps

One of the victims, identified as Morteza Madadi from Shahin Shahr in Isfahan province, was allegedly shot on March 8 at a Basij checkpoint. Sources said he was struck in the chest and later died from his injuries.

According to the same sources, his family has come under pressure and received threats after attempting to pursue legal action.

In a separate case, a young man in Ramsar, in the northern province of Mazandaran, reportedly died after being stopped at a checkpoint and objecting during an inspection. Local accounts say Basij forces used a stun device on him, and he died at the scene, reportedly from cardiac arrest.

Sources added that his family has also been pressured to remain silent about the incident.
