The defendants—Ehsan Huseynipur Hesarlu, Matin Mohammadi, Erfan Amiri, and Maryam Hodavand—have been charged with “setting fire to a religious site,” “destroying public property,” and “gathering and colluding against national security.”

Reports say the sentences of the three male defendants have been upheld by the Supreme Court and forwarded to the department responsible for carrying out punishments.

Maryam Hodavand, a 45-year-old mother of two, has been transferred to the women’s ward of Evin Prison, where she remains in custody. It is reported that she was denied access to an independent lawyer during her trial and that her case did not meet proper procedural standards.
