Weapons are reportedly being transported to Iran through the Caspian Sea

“The New York Times” reported that Russia is supplying Iran with drone components and military equipment via the Caspian Sea in an effort to help Tehran rebuild its UAV capabilities after the war.

US officials told the newspaper that Iran lost nearly 60 percent of its drone stockpile during the conflict, and that continued Russian shipments could allow Tehran to restore its drone fleet in a relatively short time.

Reports say the Caspian Sea has become a key strategic transit route between Moscow and Tehran, especially after the closure of the Strait of Hormuz and the implementation of a US naval blockade around Iran.

“The New York Times” also stated that Russia is providing Iran not only with drone parts, but also satellite imagery and technologies related to “Shahed”-type drones, aimed at improving Iran’s targeting and strike capabilities.

During the war, Israel reportedly carried out several airstrikes on Iran’s Anzali port and other naval infrastructure in the Caspian region. Western media claimed the attacks were intended to disrupt the supply corridor between Russia and Iran.

Despite these reports, Moscow has repeatedly denied sending military assistance to Iran.
