Five Key Iranian Reservoirs Drop Below Critical 10% Capacity Level

Iran is facing growing pressure on its water resources, with five of the country's major reservoirs now holding less than 10% of their total capacity, according to newly released data from the national water management authority.

As of May 30, the reservoirs at Lar, Doosti, 15 Khordad, Barzou, and Saveh were all reported to be below the 10% threshold, highlighting the severity of the country's ongoing water shortage.

The sharp decline in water reserves comes as Iran continues to grapple with prolonged drought conditions, declining rainfall, and increasing water consumption. Experts warn that the combination of climate pressures and rising demand is placing significant strain on the nation's water infrastructure and supply systems.
