The First Branch of the Tabriz Revolutionary Court has sentenced Ehsan Khodadadi, an Azerbaijani Turk from Malekan (Malek Kandi) county, to death on charges of “corruption on earth” (ifsad fil-arz).

The First Branch of the Tabriz Revolutionary Court has sentenced Ehsan Khodadadi, an Azerbaijani Turk from Malekan (Malek Kandi) county, to death on charges of “corruption on earth” (ifsad fil-arz).
According to received reports, the verdict was issued on June 15 and was communicated to the prisoner on Monday.
Ehsan Khodadadi is a resident of Yuzbash Kandi village in Malekan county. He was arrested by security forces on June 17, 2025.
It is reported that after his arrest, Khodadadi was subjected to months of harsh interrogations and torture aimed at extracting forced confessions, after which he was transferred to Tabriz Central Prison. The Tabriz Revolutionary Court is said to have based its death sentence on statements obtained during these interrogations.
