Southern Azerbaijan's Natural Landmark Revives After 15 Years

The famous Qara Qishlaq Wetland in Binab County, located within the Urmia Lake basin in Southern Azerbaijan, has come back to life after 15 years.

According to the report, above-average rainfall over the past few months has been the main factor behind the wetland's revival.

The Qara Qishlaq Wetland covers an area of 22,250 hectares and is renowned for its rich biodiversity. It serves as a habitat for 153 species of birds.

The wetland is also home to 27 species of mammals, 16 species of fish, seven species of reptiles, and approximately 2,500 plant species.
