A 17-year-old from the Iranian city of Qazvin, Amir Ali Qajari, has been sentenced to three years in prison.
The sentence was reported by human rights organizations.
In addition to the prison term, the Revolutionary Court in Qazvin ordered that, upon his release, Qajari must perform eight months of unpaid compulsory work as a municipal street cleaner.
According to the reports, Qajari was convicted for participating in the January protests.
Human rights groups said he was held for eight days in a local detention facility operated by Iran's Ministry of Intelligence following his arrest.
They also reported that he was subjected to torture and severe beatings during interrogation, after which he was transferred to a hospital, where he received treatment for 14 days.
