Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has criticized remarks made on state television suggesting a divide between the country's military and political leadership.
"On state television, they speak as if the armed forces are on one side and the government is on the other," Pezeshkian said.
"I do not see myself as separate from the armed forces. I consider myself one of them, I support them with all my strength, and I am proud of that," he added.
The president accused those making such claims on state television of repeating Israel's narrative.
"Whoever makes these statements on television is echoing what Israel says. Israel also spreads such claims in an attempt to create division and discord among the country's institutions," he said.
Pezeshkian rejected the allegations as baseless and said he was ready to stand alongside Iran's armed forces on the front lines at any time.
