Iran's hardline Kayhan newspaper has called on Tehran to maintain military pressure and challenge what it describes as a US maritime blockade, arguing that returning to negotiations with Washington would be a serious strategic error.
In an editorial published on Monday, the newspaper said Iran should avoid relying on diplomatic engagement with the United States and instead continue military operations to strengthen its position and dismantle the blockade.
The article also claimed that US forces in the Arabian Gulf are overstretched and seeking a temporary lull to restore their military capabilities.
It further argued that, until Iran's oil exports can move freely and securely, no facilities or locations in the Arabian Gulf used by Iran's adversaries or their allies should be regarded as safe.
