A senior adviser to the chief of staff of Iran's armed forces said on Tuesday that those responsible for ordering and carrying out the killing of former Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei would eventually face retaliation.

Majid Mirahmadi stated that those behind what he described as a "grave crime" should be punished in accordance with Quranic principles, saying they must receive the same treatment as the actions they committed.

He argued that seeking retribution is not a personal matter but a national and religious obligation. According to Mirahmadi, exercising patience does not mean abandoning the pursuit of justice; rather, it means remaining committed until the appropriate moment to respond.

Mirahmadi also warned that failing to retaliate would leave Iran vulnerable to further assassination attempts. He said such threats would diminish only when Iran's adversaries witnessed the country's willingness to respond decisively in practice.
