Local sources have alleged that groups described as supporters of terrorist organizations have replaced an official sign at the Buzlu Sine tourist area near Urmia in Iran's West Azerbaijan Province with a new sign presenting what they describe as a fabricated historical narrative.
According to the reports, individuals linked to militant groups operating in western parts of West Azerbaijan removed the original sign and installed a new one under a different name, while provincial and local authorities in Urmia allegedly took no action.
They claim that the site's name has been altered to "Bez Sina," with the new interpretation asserting that bez means "gray" in Kurdish and that Sina refers to the name of a Kurdish tribe.
The sources also note that the explanation surrounding the name has changed over the years. They claim that previous versions described Sina as a Kurdish shepherd who grazed goats on the mountain, while more recent accounts have introduced different interpretations.
