Prisoners in 59 Iranian Prisons Launch Hunger Strike

Beginning this morning, thousands of prisoners held in 59 prisons across Iran have once again launched a hunger strike, demanding an end to executions.

According to the reports, the prisoners are staging the hunger strike to draw the attention of the international community and human rights organizations to the growing number of executions in Iran.

The protest marks the 132nd consecutive weekly hunger strike, held every Tuesday and lasting 24 hours.

According to available information, the number of identified people executed in Iran since the beginning of the current year has surpassed 400.

Meanwhile, the Iranian Prisoners' Rights Organization has stated that the total number of executions carried out in Iran in 2026 has exceeded 900.
