Iran’s hardline Kayhan newspaper on Thursday called for missile strikes against US economic interests and corporate assets across the Middle East in response to Washington’s renewed sanctions campaign.
“The answer to Iran’s economic siege is to target vital US interests in the region,” the newspaper said in the headline of its article.
The report pointed to the activities of multinational companies in Israel’s technology sector and specifically named major US firms such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta, Nvidia and Intel.
Kayhan argued that Iran’s response should focus on the broader network of US economic interests and strategic assets throughout the region.
“If the White House chooses to continue its sanctions campaign, it must be prepared to bear the consequences,” the newspaper wrote, warning of potential losses and insecurity affecting hundreds of billions of dollars in US investments across the region.
