Iranian lawmaker Mahmoud Nabavian has called for preemptive attacks on US interests across the Middle East, arguing that such action could pressure Washington to withdraw and lift its blockade of Iran.
Nabavian, a member of parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, made the remarks on Tuesday.
He argued that the United States is looking for a reduction in tensions as its wartime stockpiles decline, fuel prices rise and the US congressional elections approach.
“This is the best opportunity to launch a preemptive strike against US interests in the region,” Nabavian wrote on X, saying it could force Washington to retreat and break the blockade.
