Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said Friday that he does not support prolonging the conflict with the United States, while stressing that Iran must strengthen its resilience to withstand the pressures ahead.
“I do not support continuing the war, but we need to strengthen the country’s resilience in preparation for the developments ahead,” Pezeshkian said during a meeting with the heads of leading Iranian universities.
Pezeshkian also cautioned that economic policies should be designed with social conditions in mind, warning that poorly planned measures could worsen existing problems rather than resolve them.
The Iranian president said former political rivals who competed against him in the election are now cooperating with his government. He added that he had asked Saeed Jalili to contribute to efforts to address the country’s problems and said he was prepared to delegate authority when necessary.
