Military commanders from nine countries hold meeting in Germany focused on Iran

Senior military commanders from the United States, Israel and several Arab countries held a secret meeting in Germany last week to discuss the war with Iran and the security situation in the region, according to two Israeli officials who spoke to Axios.

The meeting comes amid the formation of what could become an unprecedented coalition against Iran.

Gunaz TV reports that the meeting was hosted by Admiral Brad Cooper, commander of the U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM). It was the first meeting in this format in more than six months since the outbreak of the U.S.-Israeli war with Iran.

The meeting was attended by military commanders from Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Jordan and Egypt. The gathering provided a rare opportunity for direct communication between Israeli officials and military representatives from Gulf Arab states that do not have diplomatic relations with Israel.

According to Axios sources, Cooper assured the participants that despite Iranian attacks on U.S. bases, the U.S. military would not withdraw its forces from the region. He also outlined U.S. plans to increase the movement of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir also presented a report on the military’s operations across multiple fronts.

CENTCOM confirmed that the meeting took place, stating that the gathering was held with the participation of senior military leaders from eight countries with the aim of strengthening security cooperation in the Middle East.
