China has reportedly offered to use its influence to put pressure on Iran over the ongoing Middle East war in exchange for concessions from Washington on US arms sales to Taiwan, according to Reuters.
Three sources familiar with US-China discussions told the news agency that the proposal was raised ahead of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s planned visit to Washington this week for a summit with US President Donald Trump.
The sources did not provide details on what measures Beijing could take against Tehran or what specific concessions Washington might offer regarding Taiwan.
