Human rights organizations reported the development.

According to the reports, the activist, who is currently being held in Qazvin prison, has been accused of “espionage,” “cooperation with the United States and Israel,” and “insulting the Supreme Leader.”

Mojdeh Hashemi Bazargani was arrested on April 4 this year at her home in the city of Alvand.

In an audio recording released from prison, she said she had been severely beaten and tortured during her arrest and forced to sign a prepared statement during interrogation. She denied the charges against her.

Her forced confession under torture was later broadcast on Qazvin provincial television.
