Human rights organizations reported the matter.

According to the reports, the prison doctor has confirmed that Lisani needs specialized medical examinations, but he has reportedly been denied access to this legal right during the 11th month of his detention.

Lisani has undergone several surgeries due to a spinal disc condition. As a result, the lack of access to treatment at a hospital outside the prison, as well as being deprived of prescribed medication and supplements, has reportedly aggravated his physical problems and pain, along with the conditions of his imprisonment.

Lisani was arrested on November 11, 2025, while holding a sit-in protest outside Evin Prison in Tehran in support of Azerbaijani prisoner activists who were on hunger strike at the prison.

Earlier this month, Branch 28 of the Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced him to a total of 15 years in prison on charges of “forming and leading a group with the aim of undermining national security” and “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security.”
