Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Iran’s leadership is struggling to survive and will ultimately cease to exist.
Netanyahu made the remarks Monday at a ceremony marking the third anniversary of the October 7 attack, warning that Israel would not allow what he called the “terror regime” in Tehran to threaten the country’s existence.
According to Netanyahu, Iran is now weaker than at any point since the establishment of the Islamic Republic and is fighting for its survival.
He said Tehran had pursued a three-part strategy to destroy Israel: building a network of armed groups around the country, accumulating thousands of missiles capable of striking Israeli territory, and developing nuclear capabilities that could be used against Israel.
“That was Iran’s three-pronged strategy,” Netanyahu said, adding that Israel and its allies had dismantled the plan “step by step.”
Netanyahu also claimed that Israel had carried out strikes against Iran’s ballistic missile capabilities and inflicted extensive damage on its nuclear program, including its personnel, facilities and infrastructure.
He stressed that Israel still faces major challenges, including preventing Hamas from returning to power in Gaza and continuing its military campaign against Hezbollah in Lebanon.
