The United States has imposed sanctions on 17 vessels and several companies involved in the transportation and sale of Iranian oil and petroleum products.
The US Department of the Treasury announced the measures.
The 17 sanctioned tankers have been used to transport millions of barrels of Iranian oil, fuel and petroleum products to markets in Southeast Asia. The tankers are owned by companies registered in China, the United Kingdom and the Marshall Islands.
In addition, restrictions have been imposed on companies registered in the United Kingdom, India, Iran, China, the United Arab Emirates, Türkiye and the Marshall Islands over their reported links to Iran’s petrochemical industry.
