Loyalty to the National Will – Independent Political Direction – Azerbaijan-Centered National Movement
As the South Azerbaijan National Liberation Front (GAMAC), we declare that the main pillar of our national liberation movement is an independent and Azerbaijan-centered political position based on the will of our nation. The activities of our movement are determined solely within the framework of the national-political interests and historical responsibility of the Azerbaijani Turks living in South Azerbaijan, without depending on any foreign power or regional center.
Regarding the “Cooperation Council of South Azerbaijan Organizations” (CSO) established by some institutions and organizations belonging to South Azerbaijan on June 27, 2025, we openly declare to our nation that GAMAC participated in the initial stage of this process, taking into account the need for national solidarity and coordinated joint action, and joined this initiative in good faith in order to contribute to the strengthening of the national movement and support joint action.
However, after a thorough analysis of the principles within the presented conceptual framework, GAMAC decided to withdraw from this platform due to the existence of a number of serious concerns.
We would like to emphasize in particular that:
- The right to independent political decision-making, which is the main philosophy of the national movement, and the Azerbaijan-centered roadmap were not clearly expressed on that platform;
- The existence of Tehran-centered thinking patterns, as well as their presentation as a strategic line, were clearly stated in the submitted documents and general approaches;
- There were tendencies to evaluate the principle of independent decision-making based on national will under the influence of other political processes;
All this led to the formation of rhetoric and approaches that contradict the ideological, national-political principle and self-confident position of the national movement.
GAMAC officially declares its separation from the CSO platform, as it does not consider these approaches to be in line with the basic values and strategic goals of the South Azerbaijan national movement.
We, as GAMAC, declare to our nation, national-democratic institutions and everyone who is not indifferent to the fate of South Azerbaijan that in all processes conducted by the South Azerbaijan National Liberation Movement, respect for the national will, an independent path centered on Azerbaijan and its principled position against external influences will remain unchanged.
GAMAC relies solely and exclusively on its nation on this path and declares that any cooperation is possible only within the framework of respect for these principles.
We emphasize once again that South Azerbaijan will determine its own future and the political roadmap of the fate of this nation will be written only by the national-political will of South Azerbaijanis, not in Tehran or any other foreign center.
