The website of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran has once again published territorial claims against South Azerbaijan.
The website also published a map depicting what it calls “Greater Kurdistan.”
The map portrays the entire West Azerbaijan Province as Kurdish territory.
Earlier this year, amid protests in Iran, Kurdish organizations also made territorial claims over Azerbaijani lands in statements calling for strike action.
In its statement, the party used the slogan “One nation, one country, from Maku to Lorestan,” portraying the provinces of West Azerbaijan and Lorestan as Kurdish territory.
The Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran (KDPI) had also laid claim to territories in West Azerbaijan following the overthrow of the Pahlavi regime in 1979.
These claims were followed by clashes, particularly in the city of Sulduz (Naqadeh), during which many Azerbaijanis were killed.
