Pezishkian criticized the law on mandatory hijab regulations during his speech at the Islamic Council of Iran and said: "No matter how many laws we write about hijab, it cannot be implemented easily. Even if it is implemented, it will cause problems for the system."

The deputy emphasized that on March 11, in a clinic in Qom, a woman who disobeyed the hijab regulations was filmed by a certain mullah, and that woman fought the mullah.

"No one has the right to touch and interfere with the private boundary of people. In some cases, we behave in such a way that people are forced to react," Pezishkian.

He also responded to the request of another MP to impose a fine on those who disobeys the mandatory hijab regulations.

"Let these gentlemen look at their children. Can they force them to do something? If I can't force my daughter, son or anyone else to pray or to wear hijab, I have no right to impose it on the society."

In another part of his speech, Pezishkian said: "For 40 years, we have had the country, government, schools, and kindergartens in our hands. We could not satisfy the children. Now we want to educate them with the hijab regulations. It is impossible."
