The situation of the national activist is serious

Parviz Siabi , a 77-year-old lawyer and national movement activist detained in Ardabil city prison, suffers from a variety of diseases, but treatment is not permitted.

According to reports, doctors issued a certificate releasing Siabi from his 6-year prison sentence or house arrest due to his advanced age and medical conditions.

However, the court and prison authorities disagreed and showed no concern for the activist's safety.

"The doctors of the Medical Exorcism Center have also issued a certificate indicating that Parviz Siabi's condition is serious. However, the 77-year-old national activist is being worked in the warehouse of one of the workshops in the prison," the information said.

It should be noted that Parviz Siabi was detained by security officials on July 25, 2021, for supporting Khuzestan Arabs' protests against the water shortage.

He was sentenced to six years in prison for "contacting the media against the regime and giving interviews in social networks and mass media to oppose the system's integrity and principles."
