US President Donald Trump on Wednesday refused to rule out military action against Iran following the US elections, saying that “anything is possible.”
Speaking to reporters upon arriving at Joint Base Andrews in Maryland, Trump was asked whether he intended to order strikes against Iran after the election.
“I can’t tell you that,” he replied, adding, “But anything is possible.”
Trump claimed that Tehran was seeking an agreement and might be waiting until after the election, but warned that doing so would not work in Iran’s favor.
“We’ve decimated their military. We’ve decimated the finances. They have no money. They have inflation the highest in the world, 300 percent. The government is gone. But we’ll see what happens,” Trump said.
