The IRGC said that certain entities had announced a new shipping route through the strait without consulting or coordinating with Iran.

The statement stressed that the only official routes for transit through the Strait of Hormuz are those designated by the Iranian authorities.

“The only authorized routes for passage through the Strait of Hormuz are those determined by the Islamic Republic of Iran. Navigation outside these routes is extremely dangerous and prohibited. We warn all vessel crews not to deviate from the announced routes,” the statement said.

The IRGC also stated that all vessels intending to transit the Strait of Hormuz must coordinate with the Iranian Navy via Channel 16.

“Coordination with the IRGC Navy through Channel 16 is mandatory when passing through the Strait of Hormuz. Action will be taken against vessels that violate these requirements,” the statement added.
