Iran’s ability to retaliate is limited

Although Iran intends to respond to Israel's attack on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, it will do so in a limited capacity.

"Axios" news portal reported on this.

According to the portal, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, spoke with German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbok about Iran's limited attack.

"Hossein Amir-Abdollahian told his German counterpart on Thursday that Iran is determined to respond to Israel's bombing of its Damascus consulate last week, but will do so in an 'appropriate' and limited manner," the report said.

In addition, "Reuters" news agency also published similar report.

Reuters, citing unnamed Iranian sources close to the government, wrote that Iran had sent a message to the United States that it would retaliate against Israel.

"In a new message addressed to the United States, Iran said that it will respond to Israel's attack on its country's consulate in Damascus in a way that will not increase regional tensions and conflict," the publication noted.

In the message, America was assured that Iran will not act hastily because it wants a ceasefire in Gaza.

"Reuters" wrote that the purpose of Iran's Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian's visit to Oman on April 8 was to convey this message to the United States through Muscat.

"Iran has clearly confirmed that its response will be under control and will not lead to an increase in tension and conflict in the region," an unnamed US source told Reuters.
