In a video she posted online, she stated that the mandatory hijab violates sanctity and freedom. She urged the Iranian regime to cease insulting behavior and violence against women.

"In only two surahs and six verses of the Quran, statements about the hijab are first directed at men and call men to lower their eyes, not to look, and not to make eye contact," Tahira Talighani explained.

Mahmud Talighani added: “In the Holy Book of Muslims, it is possible for non-Muslim women and even Muslim women not to wear hijab.”

Talighani also criticized those who claim there is a law against those who do not wear the mandatory hijab, saying, "The law can be implemented if it is the will of the general public and conforms to the tradition of the social society." Otherwise, it is not true.”

It should be noted that Ayatollah Mahmoud Talighani served as Tehran's first imam following the establishment of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

When the Shah's army sent troops to Tabriz to overthrow the National Government established under the leadership of the great leader Sayyed Ja'far Pishevari in South Azerbaijan, he prayed for their success by passing the soldiers under the Qoran.
