The Baloch protested against the shortage of drinking water in the region

Baloch people from Kanardan, Banadaran, Ziyarat, and Sirik regions protested the government's indifference to the region's water supply issues.

On April 26, residents of Sirik district, Kanardan, Ziyarat, and other parts of Sistan and Baluchestan province protested.

The participants protested against ignoring the Baloch region's drought problem, despite the commissioning of Iran's largest fresh water plant with the goal of delivering sea water to Isfahan.

Protesters carrying placards demonstrated against the construction of a fresh water station in the province's Giyavan district to deliver seawater to Isfahan.

"Water to Isfahan at the expense of the lives of the people of Sirik" and "No to the establishment of fresh water for the Isfahan industry!" They carried placards.

While sea water is delivered from the Gulf to the city of Isfahan, no serious measures are taken to address water issues in Sistan and Baluchistan Provinces, as well as other provinces where non-Persians reside.
