According to the Global News news portal, a deportation order was issued against Seyed Salman Samani, the spokesman and deputy minister of the Ministry of Internal Affairs under Hassan Rouhani's regime.
It was reported that the court's ruling on March 20 was based on the repression and killing of opponents during Rouhani's government.
While defending himself, Samani stated that he planned to resign in December 2019 due to the deaths perpetrated during the anti-government movement.
However, he did not resign because he wanted to serve the Iranian people.
He further continued his case by claiming that former Iranian government leaders live freely in Canada, with substantial assets and pride in their former positions of power. However, I only work as a dentist in this nation and get a minimal salary.

Samani is the second former senior Iranian regime official to be deported from Canada under the 2022 sanctions.
